Support Policies and Guidelines

Standard Software

HIT supports Microsoft Office 2000/XP, Internet Explorer 6, and SmarTerm as the standard software on all PCs. In order to keep supports costs down, we focus our training and support on one package, and do not allow software that duplicates a function of standard software. For example, Microsoft Word is our word processing software, and as WordPerfect duplicates Word, it is not allowed on supported computers.

Special software packages that are needed but not provided as part of our standard support, must be discussed with HIT prior to ordering or installation. We will check to determine if possible problems or conflicts that may arise with the installation can be addressed. We will a make a "good faith effort" to help install and configure the program. HIT cannot provide extended support for non-standard software under the basic service contract.

No Pilot Email
(except forwarded to HT first)

HIT does not allow direct access of Pilot email from any HealthTeam computer. All Pilot email must be forwarded to HT first, where it is automatically scanned for virus attachments in real time. Pilot email is not scanned for virus threats. Please contact HIT to have your mail forwarded if it is not already.
